The next meeting of the Thornliebank Community Council will be on the 6th November at Thorntree Hall in Thorniebank.

Community Choir

65 people aged from 16 to 93, from high school pupils to retirees, attended a preliminary meeting on 17th April to discuss starting a new community choir for the Thornliebank/Giffnock area.

The choir had its first meeting on Tuesday 8th May – details of future meetings will be posted here. The meeting was from 7-9pm, with a break at 8pm.
The meetings are held in Giffnock South Church at Eastwood Toll (up the hill from Bar Milano). There is a £10 joining fee (£5 for students), and each meeting will cost £2 (£1 for students).

The aim of the choir is to enjoy the health benefits of singing and to make new friends in the community. There are no auditions! There are only a very few people who really cannot sing, so please come along!

This is a new venture, supported by the East Renfrewshire Community Engagement Team officers Alex Hewetson and Elaine Grogan.

Allotment Clear Up Day

Well done to everyone who came along to the Allotment Clear Up on Saturday. In a short time you all got so much work done, the site is looking much better already. With all the scrub removed, the true size of the area can be seen – it’s massive! Here are some pictures taken on the day. Signed prints of Ritchie and Ross available for a small donation to the fund
