What We Do
Thornliebank Community Council, at present, consists of 7 elected and 3 co-opted members of Thornliebank and Woodfarm community, who are interested enough about what goes on in our area to meet every month to discuss local concerns with our 3 elected local East Renfrewshire councillors. At our meetings, we receive a report from the local police on local crime figures and are kept updated on local planning and transport issues.
We try to represent the views of the community on local issues. We can contact E R services directly for information or to raise concerns, but often the E R councillors will assist with resolving problems.
Things we discuss might involve the positioning of new mobile phone masts, the proposed local plan and where new housing should, or should not, be built, or the proposed closure of local schools.
